St Mark’s has an electronic instrument with 2 manuals and a one octave pedal board. Piano, harpischord and a range of organ sounds are available. It is more complicated to manage the sounds but an explanatory manual is in the church.

The buildings where we worship are often depicted with "a steep roof and pointy windows", but St Mark's in Pukerua Bay is proof that not all Anglican churches are like that. The pitch of the roof is humble, the windows functional. The view from the sanctuary window offers a changing vista almost as good as a stained glass window. This church was built in 1956. Earlier Anglicans met in the school room or one Christmas, when the key could not be found, under the pine trees.

In 1975 a hall was relocated from Wanganui to the adjacent site and served the Church and local community in a variety of ways for more than 20 years. At the time of the consecration of the church in 1996, there was much discussion about providing a more welcoming meeting space, and so the hall was sold. Once again local parishioners put considerable effort into fundraising and in 2002 the new lounge space was dedicated by Archdeacon Bernard Faull.

More recently the church received two bequests so new carpet has been fitted. A purpose-built bookcase in the foyer was given in memory of Mrs Margery Small.

Matariki was a great joy when people of all ages from across the community gathered at St Mark's after a lantern-lit night-time walk through the Secret Valley. You had to be there! Overheard, "Is this a regular happening?" It is now!

The lounge at St Mark's is an ideal meeting place for smaller groups. There is ample parking, DVD and video, tables, chairs and kitchen facility.  Check the calendar for availability and contact the This email address is being protected from spambots.
